Maui Ku'ia Estate Chocolate was founded by Dr. Gunars Valkirs in an effort to merge his passions for cacao and philanthropy. Through cultivating Lahaina-grown cacao and mastering the science of chocolate making, his vision is to create some of the world’s greatest chocolate.

It is our company’s mission to donate 100% of our net profit to Maui-based nonprofit organizations and partner with groups that are bettering our island community.

At Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate we believe in sustainable practices and we understand and accept that it is our kuleana to malama (care for) and cultivate the land, grow single-origin cacao and craft one of the world's finest chocolates—right here in our environmentally friendly Lahaina chocolate factory.
