Hawaiian Airlines has been an integral part of life in the islands for many generations. It all started in 1929, when Inter-Island Airways' first flight went from Honolulu to Hilo, stopping at Maui, and took three hours and 15 minutes to complete.

Ninety years later, Hawaiian Airlines continues to serve and connect the people of Hawaii, with 170 daily flights between the islands, plus travel to over 20 other destinations. This world-class airlines proudly employs over 7,300 people, most of whom were born or raised in communities across Hawaii.

Through Hawaiian Airlines kōkua program, employees volunteer thousands of hours each year to community causes that support Hawaiian Airline's four giving pillars: education, health and human services, environment and culture. A company-matched employee giving program also launched this year to celebrate the landmark 90th year of service. This spirit of kōkua and generosity is one of the many ways Hawaiian Airlines and its' employees give back to the communities they serve.
